Tucson, AZ - George D. Esslinger, 82, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on March 20, 2026, after a 30-year battle with cancer. Born Jӧrg Detlef Pohl in Frankfurt, Germany, on May 22, 1943, to Georg and Hannelore Pohl, he was later raised in Roswell, New Mexico, graduating from Roswell High School in 1962. George spent 40 years as a General Manager for Furr's Cafeteria before retiring in 2007. A man of deep faith, he was a restorer of classic cars and known for his sense of humor. George is survived by Becky, his wife of 56 years; children Michael, Mark (Jessica), and Heidi Mosley; brother Karl (Renee) Cole; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, in Tucson AZ, followed by a luncheon.
